When our friends at Primal came to us looking for a social media strategy that would firmly establish their brand identity, we drew inspiration from the name itself: Primal. What kinds of ideas and images does it evoke? What kind of energy does it convey?
After researching tons of top travel and adventure accounts, as well as Primal’s competitors, we landed on one of our favorite social strategies of all time. We decided to employ Instagram’s grid layout to create an evocative, visually interesting profile that captures the wanderlust of a generation.
Each row of photos uses the same color palette or ecosystem, so that the entire profile looks cohesive, original and beautiful. The product is featured in natural, low-key settings that aren’t forced or inauthentic. Anyone who visits the Primal gallery will see that the images are visually connected to the product shots. Together, they tell the brand story in a fresh, natural way.
The result is an account that celebrates smoke culture and mother nature while delivering consistently great content. It appeals to the audience and incorporates their world view. It beats the drum of the demographic and has created its own habitat, right there in the wild.
